Heat & Frost Training Center is the Skilled Trades BC designated provider for Mechanical Insulation training in BC. Insulators require 4 years of training, including 720 hours of technical training, 6,600 hours of on-the-job training and an exam. Insulators apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation using a range of insulation materials (e.g., fiberglass, mineral wool, Styrofoam, etc.) on all types of mechanical equipment, such as plumbing and piping systems, HVAC systems, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels, and other mechanical systems.
