Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings & specifications
  • Measure, cut, fit, install and/or secure glass panes, window parts & architectural metals
  • Assemble pre-fabricated glass unit parts such as revolving doors, sky lights & curtain walls
  • Install and maintain glass products on walls, ceilings & handrails
  • Replace windows and glass in furniture & other products

Entrance Requirements

High School (recommended prerequisites):

  • Grade 12 recommended

Apprenticeship Program:

4 years of training, including 6,400 hours of work-based training and 540 hours of technical training and exam. Journeyperson certificate awarded after successful completion. As an apprentice, you also earn while you learn.

Hourly Pay

Salary Range: $20 – $36*/hr (*2020 rates)
