Glaziers fabricate, install and repair commercial and residential window, door and entranceway systems. They can work with construction glass installation contractors, interior design and architectural firms, and glass fabrication shops. There is always a demand for glaziers!
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings & specifications
- Measure, cut, fit, install and/or secure glass panes, window parts & architectural metals
- Assemble pre-fabricated glass unit parts such as revolving doors, sky lights & curtain walls
- Install and maintain glass products on walls, ceilings & handrails
- Replace windows and glass in furniture & other products
What You’ll Need
Entrance Requirements
High School (recommended prerequisites):
- Grade 12 recommended
Apprenticeship Program: 4 years of training, including 6,400 hours of work-based training and 540 hours of technical training and exam. Journeyperson certificate awarded after successful completion. As an apprentice, you also earn while you learn.
