Wall & ceiling installers frame interior walls and install window frames, doors, partitions and computer floors. They hang drywall, T-bar ceilings and suspended ceilings
Responsibilities
- Use architectural blueprints to lay out walls and ceilings for a project
- Assemble interior and exterior walls, ceilings and partitions
- Install pressed-steel door and window frames
- Insulate walls for acoustic or thermal conditions
- Involved in ceiling work variations such as T-bar and intricate ceilings
- Install computer access flooring
What You’ll Need
Entrance Requirements
High School (recommended prerequisites):
- Grade 12 recommended
Apprenticeship Program: 4 years of training, including 6,000 hours of work-based training and 540 hours of technical training hours and exam. Journeyperson certificate awarded after successful completion. As an apprentice, you also earn while you learn.
